Good Morning my Friends,
Ok time to move back into James, James 3:6-12. I think most of us can relate when I say I fail at this because of our job. Here in the military, we sometime are put in a very rough and sometimes hostile environment where it is very hard to control our words. I know there are times were I have to step off and pray to God for forgiveness of my words, and most of all, for the strength to not to let those words come out of my mouth. It’s hard but we need to try! We need to try …why? So as to set a good example. Mixing the contradictory speech of “blessings” and “cursing” will only produce negative results.
As James said “no spring yields both salt water and fresh”
6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell. 7 For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and creature of the sea, is tamed and has been tamed by mankind. 8 But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. 9 With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the similitude of God. 10 Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so. 11 Does a spring send forth fresh water and bitter from the same opening? 12 Can a fig tree, my brethren, bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Thus no spring yields both salt water and fresh.
Dear Heavenly Father, give us the wisdom and the strength to tame our tongues. We know that the tongue can defile the whole body in the words that we say but we pray, oh God! that you help us with this weakness we have so that only fresh water will come forth from our wells. We need your Holy Spirt to work on us so that we only have godly words, seek divine wisdom, bare good fruit, show harmony and wisdom… in your Son’s name, Jesus Christ, we pray… AMEN!
Have a Great Day!
Keep your head up! GOD gives his hardest battles to his strongest SOLDIERS…
So as we go through our day let us go out to help and to care for all that need it, in Jesus’ name…Amen!
